Audition Information
BRASS/WOODWINDS
Complete the Audition Information Form that will open in the spring. This is the same form you will use to upload your videos.
Submit a video MUSIC audition. You should create a video of yourself performing the piece for your instrument. In the same video, you should also record yourself playing a two-octave chromatic scale beginning on concert F. You may use any pattern or articulation.

- We do not march oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, or baritone saxophone!
- Clarinet
- Mellophone/Horn
- Horn players may audition on Mellophone or their concert horn
- Piccolo/Flute
- Flute players may audition on Piccolo or Flute
- Tenor Sax
- Trombone
- Trombone players may select the part they feel most comfortable playing (i.e., 1st Trombone, 2nd Trombone)
- Trumpet
- Trumpet players may select the part they feel most comfortable playing (i.e., 1st Trumpet, 2nd Trumpet)
- Tuba
- Baritone players may audition on a marching baritone, marching euphonium, or a concert euphonium
- Tuba players may audition on sousaphone or a concert tuba.
If your audition piece has multi-measure rests, you do not need to count all of the rests!
Submit a video MARCHING audition. You should create a video of yourself performing the following marching routine: Forward 8, Right Slide 8, Backwards 8, Left Slide 16, Forward 8, Right Slide 8, Backwards 8. This should be done WITH AN AUDIBLE METRONOME at 152 bpm. It should be done with your instrument, or at a modified horns up position if you do not have access to a marching instrument.

Complete the Audition Information Form
Please submit a video of you performing 2-3 minutes worth of choreography. You can write your own or use material from a previous fall or winter show. You may use batons, flags, rifles, sabers, and/or, dance. At the beginning of the video, please stand in full frame and introduce yourself by stating your full name, high school, and academic status at KSU (i.e. incoming Freshman, rising sophomore, etc.)!
You will submit this video using the audition form provided for winds. Deadline to submit is APRIL 1ST!
Note: There will also be a live audition as well!
